First Easter cards!

Good morning my lovely followers!
I am sorry for having been AWOL for a few days...apart from it being half term, towards the end of the week I got some sort of a virus and it knocked me sideways a bit and apart from the things I have to do, I haven't felt much like doing anything! I am feeling a whole lot more like myself now though, so I have a lovely set of Easter cards to show you...

I have used one of the lovely stamp sets from the Spring/Summer catalogue, Blessed Easter, combined with the Trefoil Cross from the annual catalogue.

The Blessed Easter stamp actually comes with gorgeous tulips as part of the stamp, which I will be showing you tomorrow, but for these cards I have only used the sentiment worked perfectly with the cross.

Isn't it a pretty cross? I can see that I will be using it lots, not just for Easter but for Christening, Baptism, Confirmation etc. I created a frame around my sentiment using the Paper Piercing Essentials pack. I think it gives it a little bit more interest and focus don't you?

I had a lovely week off last week with Keiran. We went to Knowsley Safari Park, the cinema, baked bread and banana bread, visited friends and soft play centres and a farm....I'm glad to be back at work for a rest! ;)
Have a fab Tuesday and see you tomorrow! :)

My Superhero!

I am so late in entering the Less is More challenge this week! Still, better late than never right?

So here is my entry into the Masculine themed challenge...

This is another new set I recently bought...it's super great for kids' cards!

After I stamped the little fella in Baked Brown Sugar, I coloured in his cape and boots in Real Red and Pacific Blue. The sentiment was fussy cut and mounted on Dimensionals and I paper pierced the image panel to give some added interest.

I had my cards placed into a little shop in our new market yesterday! I'm only starting with new baby and christening/baptism card for now, but it's a start and I'm very excited about it! So I shall have to make plenty more now to have on my regular church stall!

Have a lovely Friday...make the most of it with your little ones...back to school next week!

A whole lot of wonderful!

Hello!
We have a new challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches and this week it's a colour challenge. A nice bright, cheerful colour challenge!

Aren't these lovely colours? I immediately thought of spring, tulips and happiness! I hope my card translates that...

I used the lovely Vivid Vases stamp, new in the Spring/Summer catalogue. I liked this stamp the first time I saw it. I coloured it very simply using my Stampin' Write Markers.

Can you see the shine on the vases? I added some Crystal Effects as I thought it would give them some realism. The strip of Gingham Garden Washi gives the card I little 'zing' don't you think?

Coffee and Friends...

Good morning!
How are you? We had a fun day at Knowsley Safari Park yesterday, me playing with my new camera and Keiran and his cousin Sophie being ever willing subjects! Then Sophie stayed over so all in all a fun day!

Anyway, today is my friend Chelsey's birthday and hopefully her card has arrived so I'm going to share it here!

I have used almost entirely MDS for this card...though I must admit, it doesn't look digital!

I used Perfect Blend for my card and printed it twice, once with plain cups and once after adding some DSP into the band across the cups. I cut the bands out and glued using Tombow. The sentiment was printed directly onto the Naturals White card blank and I used a piece of the packaging from my Stampin' Up! parcels as the background...kind of looks like a coffee bean bag doesn't it?

I used the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch for my inspiration...
I'm also entering into the challenge at Addicted to CAS which is Coffee.

I'm off to take our current holiday dog out for a walk with Keiran and Sophie now before Sophie goes home, then I might try a bit of baking!

Have a lovely Tuesday!

My first inspiration/memory tin

Good morning!
Have you had a good weekend? I had a very productive one, designing 4 wedding invitations, a birthday card and an inspiration tin! So today I'm going to show you the latter one as the birthday one needs to arrive with it's recipient before I share!

I up-cycled a baby milk tin using some of the gorgeous free Sale-a-Bration papers, the free Banner Blast stamps and matching punch and the Spiral Flower Originals die.

I added a circle of paper to the top of the tin and topped it with my rolled roses.

I decorated the peg with some DSP paper and added some punched notelets, using the Artisan Label punch, for writing an inspirational message on.
The idea behind my tin is every time something good happens to you, you write a little note about it and pop it in the tin. Then when you're feeling a little down, or need a pick me up, you open it and hopefully the little notes will remind you that life is actually not as bad as you think!

Another take on the tin is as a baby memory tin, except that it could be for 'Baby's Firsts'...first tooth, first word, first steps etc. I plan to make a few of those in the not too distant future!

Today is the first day of half term and I am really looking forward to spending some quality time with Keiran...baking, swimming, cinema, Knowsley Safari Park....it's gonna be a busy week!

Have a lovely Monday!

A manly Valentine!

Hello everyone!
I promised you a Valentine card this weekend, and so here it is!

I used a couple of my new items on this card... the new embossing folder, and the En Francais Background stamp. I do love that stamp...it's so soft and romantic looking...I have no idea why I didn't get it before!

As this card was for a man I thought the embossing would take the femininity away from the card a little, so I used the new Arrows EF for this. I used hearts from the Hearts a Flutter set and heat embossed them in Silver Stampin' Emboss.

Here is a close up of the sentiment...

Isn't it lovely? I was asked to add this quote somewhere on the card and I really like it!

I used the sketch at I {Heart} Sketches for my inspiration.

I hope you have a wonderful Saturday and the weather doesn't get you down too much!
